Ed Dean .. Former WSGN B'ham "Good Guy"
"WSGN was the best radio station for which I was honored to work. There won't be another like that one."...or
something like that. I could tell many stories of the gang there at that time. Do you remember the time I did a
seance on the air? Afterwards Joey Roberts, the all night guy, refused to go into the studio until there
was an excorcism.

BJ Harris .. Former 933 FLZ morning host currently mornings on "Alice 105.9" Denver
Wow, this sounds great... I cant wait for more, Jon!

Jon Bass .. Middays WSGN, B'ham 1972-1973

JoJo Walker .. Tampa Bay's News Talk 820, 56 WHBQ Memphis
and in Tampa on Q105, Mix 96, KISS FM and others.
“Having grown up in Memphis Tennessee, I had the pleasure of listening to one of the greatest night
time jocks in America on Music Radio 68/WMPS and later I had the pleasure of working with Jon at Q105 here
in Tampa Bay. Jon was and still is one of the greatest jocks to have ever put on a pair of head phones and I’m
proud to have worked with him and known him. Radio is so much richer having had
“Jon Rock N’ Roll Anthony” grace the airwaves!

Robert B. McEntire .. Charter year inductee Texas Radio Hall of Fame
Hi, Jon.  I love what you're doing on this website.  You're zeroed in on the glory days of AM radio. I took
retirement Jan. 1, 2010 after 42-years at KILT, Houston, the last 32-years as morning show anchor.
We're trying to get something going like your site for KILT. Keep up the spirit and honor the glory days of
American AM radio.

Dick Downes .. Former Radio Programmer
"In a way we're all living in the past and missing it dearly. Many of you who receive these notes and
postings from Jon "Rock 'n' Roll" Anthony do so because it's hard to give up radio's glory days and our
part in them. So, it is with clear conscience that I offer this rare recommendation that you visit his
site and dig through it. I've known Jon for more than 30 years and can attest that you will find some neat
stuff you can use today... and you never know, you may find a bit of your past self there as well."

Dave Mann .. Dave Mann Voiceovers Tampa
Formerly with WOKY, Q-105, 933 FLZ and others
Love the idea! Thanks for creating the Rockin Blog. I'll send you some of my old airchecks from 933 FLZ,
Q-105, and WOKY .

Nick Cash .. Program Director / Morning Personality 102-7 The Wolf .. (KHGE Fresno, Ca.)
Just stumbled upon your website... LOVE IT!  Grew up (Baby DJ) in Florida listening to you and the other greats
at Q-105 & Power Pig / FLZ.  In fact...have worked with Beau Richards, Cleveland Wheeler, & MJ Kelli in my radio
travels.  When I was 16, I was working at a small station in Dunnellon, FL and went to Tampa one day.  I decided
to go look at the Q studios and Chuck Bear let me in and gave me a tour. Keep the site going...
love hearing the memories!

Jack Shell .. Middays on "99.5 WYCD" Detroit
I'm looking forward to hearing more old "KX104" Nashville airchecks... I have a love for early 80s CHR, I guess
because that reminds me of being a little boy and falling in love with FM radio. My wife grew up in Birmingham,
and remembers many of the Magic City airchecks I've played off your site.
Keep up the great work!

Reid Lundy .. Nashvile
Hey, bud. Got the site bookmarked and it looks great!  I know it's going to be a lot of work to keep it current but I
know it will be fun for you and everyone else.

Walt Brown .. Clear Channel, Cincinnati. Formerly in B'ham with WERC, Kicks
106, WSGN & WYDE. Also stations in Gadsden, Chattanooga, Atlanta and Montgomery.
I wanted to let you know how great your site is. I have bookmarked it and plan to revisit it from time to time.
I'll spread the word! Still can't believe how lucky I was to find your site!  And, by all means, keep up the good work.
Great job!

Dollar Bill Lawson .. Mornings on 102.5, "The Bull" Birmingham, Al
I was in the City Federal building visiting Amaysa "Cookin'" Kincade, now JoJo, and met you then. (about 1974)
You were working midnight to 6 I believe, and I was working radio in Tuscaloosa. You guys were really nice to
me, and I as flabbergasted to be in the WSGN studios.  I've worked around the state, and finally got back to
Birmingham (my home too - Homewood) in 1979, worked at WERC/WKXX for about 6 years, I then
went to Country at WZZK, worked there almost 20 years doing mornings for 10 years, and have worked mornings
now for 9 years at Clear Channel's 102.5 THE BULL. Many of the old B'ham radio gang have kept me up with
where you guys have been over the years....you have become legends.  I love the website and thank you for it.  It
really brings back some wonderful memories....I really miss those days in the '60 - '80's in radio.....just doesn't
seem nearly the same now.........the business has changed, but then again, I'm getting old, and so have I..!!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this...and ROLL TIDE!

Bob Mayben .. Former Chief Engineer at WWKX-FM "KX-104" Nashville
Hey Jon, I am glad to see your blog become available to the masses. If anyone can write a book on the Top 40

Your website is simply amazing and brings back the best of memories for me.
I never worked in radio but have always been a huge fan as I grew up in Jackson, MS and Birmingham
so was blessed with growing up with WSGN, WERC, WZZQ, WJDX and WRBC. Plus I feel a kinship with
you as I was born in Birmingham and have been a lifelong Alabama football fan.

Hey Jon...Happened on to your web site when surfing around. Your site ROCKS!
I worked for Michael St. John and some other KX-104 folks at Power 93-WKQD
in Huntsville in 1989-1990. Bob Mayben was the engineer and Chuck McCartney
did afternoon drive. It was cool to see that photo of those carts with your "drops" on them.
I would love to have a few of those! Look forward to hearing more great airchecks!
I'm a Baptist, too. So, we're connected in a roundabout way.

Jay Michaels .. Formerly with WSGN, WZZK and others, Birmingham

It is fabulous to see the memories from this business that we all have such passion for right
here in one place. While Radio is still a great business, it will never be the same as it was
"back in the day"

Gary Stupek .. Milwaukee
I think that's AWESOME! YOU actually gave ME a huge itch to get into radio!
You were so talented at a rather young age. I mean in '75-'76 when I was listening to you
on WOKY Milwaukee, in my '69 Chevy, I'd say - yeah, the guy's been in the biz 15 years!!!!

Steve Green .. Chattanooga, Tn
What an awesome site! I've been in radio since 1980... I love this stuff.
Grew up listening to you, Amaysa Kincaid, Jay W Jason, Steve Norris, Michael St. John, Super Fox,
and on and on. WSGN and 'ERC-FM were my constant companion growing up.
Would love to see some more B'ham pics. Always wondered what
the studio at WSGN City Federal Building looked like.
