Jon "Rock n' Roll" Anthony

Born and raised In Birmingham, (Irondale) Alabama. I grew up listening to
WSGN "The Big 610" (Top 40) and got my very first radio job during my junior
year at Woodlawn High School, working part-time at WLPH, Irondale, (Religous).
Since then, and making it to WSGN in 1974, my on-air radio and audio production
career has spanned over 30 years with stops in Meridian, Ms., Milwaukee, Memphis,
Des Moines, Nashville, Washington, D.C. and Boston before settling in Tampa in 1985
at the legendary "Q-105" holding down 7-10pm .. Then in 1989 moving over to
"Power 93, The Power Pig" to do nights. In 1990 I slid into afternoon drive.
Also in 1990, "The Power Pig" won Billboard Magazine's Top 40 radio station of the year award!

From 2000 to 2003 I was the production director, in Tampa, for Clear Channel's
"93.3 FLZ" (CHR) and "970 WFLA" (News-Talk).

I'm married (Belinda) and have a son age 20 (Ryan).

I'm a Christian and attend Bible Class (H2O - His To Own) and church at
Bell Shoals Baptist in Brandon, Fl.  I also handle our Bible class web site.

I enjoy cruises (23 so far), fine dining, photography and all kinds of music
from Top 40 oldies, classic rock, smooth jazz and blues to disco funk & dance.

I also have a passion for college football and am a huge fan of the "Alabama Crimson Tide".
Winners of 14 National Championships...  The last two, 2009 & 2011... Roll Tide...!!!

(Now you know why I use the color Crimson on my web site)
